Our community craft session includes making paper masks, and I am revising the worksheet we use before cutting the templates. Starting with a single outline saves time, yet it leaves us guessing about where each person might need a different contour. I am considering a short explanation of face shapes as background for that worksheet. My intention is to use the categories for describing contours, then measure each participant rather than infer sizes from a label. Perhaps the worksheet should begin with the widest visible area and the jaw contour, followed by space for individual measurements. The paper versions will be tested before decoration, leaving time to change the edges without wasting paint or other materials. There should be room for mixed features, rather than pressure to choose the closest category and follow its outline exactly. A dramatic character outline is fine for the finished piece, provided the practical fitting stage remains separate from those decorative choices. Which parts of the face outline would you ask participants to note before they begin adjusting a basic paper template?
